Certified Physician Assistant
Physician Assistants are health care professionals licensed to practice medicine with physician supervision. PAs are educated in a medical model designed to complement physician training. The PA students are taught to diagnose and treat medical conditions the same as medical students. Upon graduation, physician assistants take a certification examination that is developed by the National Commission of Certification of PAs in conjunction with the Board of Medical Examiners.
